Jim Hendricks, FAIA

Jim Hendricks passed away on September 25, 2016 in Rockwall, Texas. Jim was honored as a Fellow of the AIA and was a lifelong member of the Texas Society of Architects, where he was often recognized for his architectural design work, winning many competitions and honors over years of practice. He was born in Fort Worth and graduated from the University of Texas. He is remembered for his success in large-scale public projects and smaller scale businesses and residences known throughout the state. Patrick Swearingen Chumney, AIA Emeritus: 1933-2016

Patrick Swearingen Chumney, AIA Emeritus, died on October 4, 2016. He was 83 years old. Chumney had been a member of AIA San Antonio since 1966. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in architecture. Chumney started his architecture career at Bartlett Cooke and Associates and went on to found his own firm, Chumney and Associates, in 1983. Noteworthy designs include the Frost Bank Tower in San Antonio and the HEB Arsenal corporate headquarters, among many others. Chumney had only retired a year ago, after designing many institutional and school buildings later in his career.…
