The 2014 Design Awards jurors met in Austin on May 8–9 to review all projects submitted for consideration. Lorena Toffer, AIA, of Dallas Receives 2014 AIA Young Architects Award

Architizer’s 2nd Annual A+ Awards: Call for Entries

The A+ Awards give Texas architects a unique opportunity to be seen and recognized on a global scale. With more than 1,500 entries from 100+ countries, the A+ Awards represents the world’s biggest architecture awards program. Architizer has teamed up with partners the Wall Street Journal and the Webbys to help break architecture out of the echo chamber, reaching an audience of 80 million, including 200,000 public votes. AIA Houston Design Awards

A panel of three internationally recognized architects met at Architecture Center Houston and selected 16 projects in six categories among the 122 entries. TxA 2013 Studio Awards Announced

The Texas Society of Architects Studio Awards recognize innovation and excellence in design. Real or theoretical projects that go beyond the boundaries of architecture by addressing current critical issues are encouraged.  Our 2013 Studio Awards jury consisted of New York City-based Paul Lewis of LTL Architects, Amale Andraos of WORK Architecture Company, Lyn Rice of Rice+Lipka Architects, and Gordon Kipping of G TECTS. AIA Austin 2013 Design Awards

HONOR  Hillside Residence Alterstudio Architecture A 1927 Austin bungalow was rescued from dilapidation through a substantial renovation and expansion. The building was delineated abstractly in stark white and paired with a new volume clad in black-stained cypress. The two are connected via a glass entry bridge. The renovation respects the original structure’s character, maintaining its inward focus; the expansion, by contrast, is characterized by openness, spatial continuity, and abstraction. Preservation Texas’ Annual Honor Awards: Call for Nominations

Since its founding in 1985, Preservation Texas has been the leading advocate for the preservation of Texas historic resources. The organization's annual Honor Awards program recognizes outstanding and inspiring accomplishments in historic preservation across the state. Preservation Texas invites nominations for exemplary projects, programs, and achievements by individuals or organizations. The awards and the annual event allow the organization to share the preservation efforts of proud Texans across the state.
