From an Architect’s Desk

As National Architecture Week draws to a close, we invite you to contemplate the notion of the "Architect's Desk" with a video compilation of contributions to our recent Instagram hashtag event, #frommydesk, where we asked our followers to show us what it means to be an architect.

Clockwise from top left: On the jobsite @givemeabreakbob; Architect Barbie and modular engineer @pandix75; Eating a healthy lunch at his desk @tsquare58; On Fridays, JPH Architecture wears blue @gabylo; Sketching at night @cogitatedesign; Trying out a new desk lamp @bobborson; Watching the death-defying window cleaners at Paul Rudolph Tower in Fort Worth @brandonburnsarch; The incomperable Matt Morris working on a watercolor @lakeflato; "Domingo… cuando fue q cambiaste??" Working from home on a Sunday in Argentina @javiboyero; Inspirational clutter @stelmars

The shared photos, all tagged #frommydesk #texasarchitects, provide a glimpse into how architects across the state (and around the world) spend their time. Architects' jobs vary, and someone's desk may not even be a desk at all. It could be on a job site, in a showroom, at a meeting — you name it.

Thanks to all the participants who showed us what it means to be a Texas Architect!
