Governor Appoints Three to TBAE
On April 29, the Office of Governor Rick Perry announced that three members, including Texas Architect Charles Anastos, AIA, of Corpus Christi, have been appointed to the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners. The board regulates the practice of architecture, landscape architecture and interior design throughout the state.

Charles "Chuck" Anastos of Corpus Christi is president and co-owner of Chuck Anastos Associates LLC. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Texas Society of Architects, a member and past president of the Corpus Christi AIA, and a graduate of Leadership Corpus Christi. He is a past board member of the Corpus Christi Arts Foundation, past board member and past chairman of the Corpus Christi Arts and Cultural Commission, past board member and past chairman of the Corpus Christi Municipal Arts Commission, past chairman of the Art Museum of South Texas Building Committee, and a past member of the Corpus Christi Mayor's Task Force on Housing and Corpus Christi Building Inspection Task Force. Anastos received a bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University. He is being reappointed to the board.
Michael "Chad" Davis of Lubbock is an owner and principal of Parkhill, Smith and Cooper Inc. He is a member, student scholarship endowment chairman and past president of the Texas Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, and a trustee of the Texas Tech University (TTU) Museum Association Advisory Board. He is also a past board member of the City of Lubbock Water Board of Appeals and TTU College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Advisory Board, former co-chairman of the Parkhill, Smith and Cooper campaign drive benefitting the Lubbock Area United Way, and a past member of the TTU College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Landscape Architecture Department Chair Search Committee. Davis received a bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from Texas Tech University.
William "Davey" Edwards of Alvord is vice president of Edwards Surveying LLC. He is a member of the International Federation of Surveyors and Oklahoma Society of Land Surveyors, a member and past president of the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors, and a past member of the National Society of Professional Surveyors American Congress of Surveying and Mapping. He is also a member of the Texas A&M University (TAMU) at Corpus Christi Geospatial Surveying Engineering Advisory Committee, City of Decatur Planning and Zoning Commission, University of Texas (UT) at Dallas Geoscience Club, UT Dallas and TAMU Geographic Information Science student organizations, TAMU Association of Former Students, and TAMU Twelfth Man Foundation. Edwards received a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and a master's degree in geospatial surveying engineering from Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi, and is currently pursuing a doctorate of geospatial information sciences from the University of Texas at Dallas.
