Patrick Swearingen Chumney, AIA Emeritus, passed away on October 4, 2016.

Patrick Swearingen Chumney, AIA Emeritus, died on October 4, 2016. He was 83 years old. Chumney had been a member of AIA San Antonio since 1966. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in architecture.

Chumney started his architecture career at Bartlett Cooke and Associates and went on to found his own firm, Chumney and Associates, in 1983. Noteworthy designs include the Frost Bank Tower in San Antonio and the HEB Arsenal corporate headquarters, among many others. Chumney had only retired a year ago, after designing many institutional and school buildings later in his career.
