Yesterday at 5:00 p.m, the Texas Society of Architects closed the entry period for our 2014 Design Awards. The TxA Design Awards recognize outstanding architectural and urban design projects by architects practicing in Texas to promote public interest in design excellence.
After a day filled with round-the-clock postal deliveries and stop-by visits from some friendly faces, the 2014 Design Award submissions are in and tallied — with a resounding total of more than 200 entries! Thanks to everyone who entered the competition.
As these entries are processed and prepared for review by the jurors, here are a few dates to keep in mind:
Thursday and Friday, May 8–9, 2014
The 2014 Design Awards jury will convene at 500 Chicon. This year’s jurors are: Marlon Blackwell, FAIA, of Marlon Blackwell Architect in Fayetteville, Ark.; Andrea P. Leers, FAIA, of Leers Weinzapfel Associates of Boston; Tim Love, AIA, of Utile in Boston; and Mark Reddington, FAIA, of LMN Architects in Seattle.
