The Design Awards jury has begun!
Yesterday, the jurors convened at the Texas Society of Architects office at 500 Chicon to begin the process of selecting the exemplary projects to receive this year’s awards. The 2014 Design Awards jurors include: Marlon Blackwell, FAIA, of Marlon Blackwell Architect in Fayetteville, Ark.; Andrea P. Leers, FAIA, of Leers Weinzapfel Associates of Boston; Tim Love, AIA, of Utile in Boston; and Mark Reddington, FAIA, of LMN Architects in Seattle.
Today, the jurors will continue to whittle down the entries from the 221 submitted to the final selection of 10–15 or so projects to be honored.
Make sure to mark your calendars for the 2014 Design Awards announcement on Tuesday, May 13. The list of recipients will be posted on the TxA website and our social media outlets!
500 Chicon Street is the Austin headquarters of the Texas Society of Architects. "500 Chicon" is a column on the Texas Architects blog that highlights the ongoing collaboration between Texas Architects staff, our members, and other contributing partners. These posts will spotlight individuals who come through our doors, events and happenings at the office, and staff activities out in the field.
