Fireside Chats are an opportunity for Emerging Professionals to have small, intimate conversations with established architects. For this Chat, 25 Emerging Professionals will be speaking with James Furr, FAIA, of Gensler.
James Furr serves as Managing Principal of Gensler's South Central Region and represents that region on the firm's Management Committee. Since 1992, he has also served as Senior Lecturer for the Professional Practice Class at Rice School of Architecture. The focus of his class centers on an understanding of the profession, firm organization and practice, and integrated project delivery. Furr is active in a number of cultural and philanthropic organizations in Houston. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the Contemporary Arts Museum of Houston, the Harris County Heritage Society, and the Blaffer Art Museum at the University of Houston and Central Houston. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, the Greater Houston Partnership, the Greater Houston Preservation Alliance and the Rice Design Alliance, where he also served as President in 1993.
