This presentation will discuss the changes in the law that affect architects, including but not limited to: new case law that authorizes and expands the causes of action that can be brought against architects; new types of claims that are being brought by owners, but have not been approved by the courts (and language architects can put in their contracts to prevent such claims); how the most recent statutory amendments to the Certificate of Merit requirements have been interpreted; and how the economic loss rule continues to evolve, and why it matters.
