Description

Established, mature trees dramatically enhance and enliven our experience of the built environment, but the built environment seldom returns the favor. New construction poses significant risks to existing tree health, particularly when working in dense urban settings where every inch counts. In this session, we will review two recently completed award-winning projects that reconcile the disparate needs of trees and outdoor public space in close quarters, through implementation of sound design guidelines, new materials, systems technologies, and construction administration best practices.
