The City of Dallas is a regional economic engine as well as a showcase for contemporary architecture and design. This session will explore the relationships of five major urban projects: Klyde Warren Park, Crescent Real Estate's 2001 McKinney, the renovation of Crescent Court, and The Plaza of The Americas, as well as their impacts on the fabric of downtown Dallas. These five significant landscape-oriented projects are within a five minute walk of each other and will make a dramatic impact on the Uptown and Arts District neighborhoods.
This session will review the opportunities and constraints of each site, project programming, individual design solutions, and the net contribution of the projects to the urban design of the city. Participants will also hear from project leaders and clients and will learn about the various programming and operational funding strategies for each project.
