The recession has brought forth a plethora of development opportunities in the form of distressed or underperforming properties, but these are challenging projects where developers and their teams have to be more creative than ever. Tight profit margins, shaky lending, fluctuating construction costs, and city level zoning and code changes challenge the feasibility and profitability of these projects. This presentation will look at potential pitfalls and creative solutions for urban redevelopment projects from the perspective of developers, engineers, and designers.
