Junior Architectural Designer

Gensler in Houston is seeking a Jr. Architectural Designer with a successful track record on architectural projects. In this position, you will collaborate with our Design Director to develop appropriate design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase of the project.


Responsibilities
•Collaborate on design projects, including programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
•Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.
•Resolve complex technical and design issues.
•Assist in managing client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination.
•Provide project team coordination for the finished plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction.
•Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish samples.
•Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs.

Qualifications
•Bachelors’ Degree in Architecture.
•2-7 years work experience.
•Flexibility to focus on a variety of project types or multiple projects in various stages of development.
•Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills.
•Motivated self-starter with the ability to problem solve both individually and as a part of a project team.
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Outstanding graphics presentations skills.
•Revit skills required.
•Proficiency in the use of Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch Up and 3-D Studio Max, etc.
•LEED AP, Licensure, or working toward licensure preferred.
