Des M. Taylor, Hon. AIA, executive vice president of the Texas Society of Architects from 1973-1988, passed away on August 27. David Lancaster, Hon. AIA, pays tribute to Taylor and his leadership, which helped transform the Society into an exemplary model for AIA components across the country.

2013 TEX-FAB Finalists Announced
This week, TEX-FAB *Digital Fabrication Alliance, a nonprofit connecting design professionals, academics, and manufacturers interested in using digital technology to explore new industry relationships, announced the finalists of its 2013 competition, “SKIN.” Four proposals were selected to move on to the next round. The eventual winner will be built at full scale through TEX-FAB's fabrication partnership with ZAHNER. The winning design will then be exhibited at the next TEX-FAB conference.
